I belive my Great-great grandfather John P. Weber founded Weber's Camp and I'm interested in it's location and maybe to hike there. Can anyone email me about this?
Thanks.

wow Fossil canyon, I've never heard of anyone being interested in that before. I don't know much (no idea what you know), but Fossil canyon is sort of surrounded by private holdings (Widman Ranch to the north and Thompson to the south I believe). the old Weber Camp is at its best. I guess it would be hard to get to that area, although old topo maps show the old trail that starts north of Widman and heads on the west side of BHR into Fossil Canyon. I also believe one could descend to Weber Camp from the Heaton Flats trail. What's your interest in Fossil canyon? I am intrigued

Great report! It looks like it was a grueling hike. 1500 ft in less than a mile? That's rough!
