			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Driving east, Baldy stands out against the blue sky pretty nicely. I&#8217;ve often thought about it, driving up to Baldy Village to see how things are going. But safety and laziness gets the better of me. Although, by chance you should be curious enough to go check it out, then be careful. </p>
<blockquote><p>Dan Scott, a Wilderness Patrol Ranger in the San Bernardino National Forest, said hiking in deep snow, even with snowshoes, saps energy. And at an altitude above 9,500 feet, &#8220;it&#8217;s the perfect recipe for disaster.&#8221;</p>
